Lausanne “Tous Photographes” Exhibition: Martin Parr Discussion

I first came across Martin Parr’s work through a comment someone made on one of my photographs last year (it’s a digital one, sorry). I have tried, occasionally and probably somewhat self-consciously, to incorporate some part of his aesthetic into what I do photographically, with varying degrees of success.

The discussion I’m about to give you the link for took place as part of the “Tous Photographes!/We are All Photographers Now!” exhibition in Lausanne. The show, and to some extent the discussion with Parr ponders the question of whether the “Digital Revolution” has blurred the distinction between amateur and professional, and the changing photographic landscape now that every mobile phone is also a camera.

The discussion is roughly an hour and a quarter long, and Parr is an engaging, witty speaker - well worth the download, I think.
